Delicious food and amazing atmosphere. The gnocchi and burrata appetizer were both amazing.

I came here with my family for a traditional Italian meal and we were highly impressed. I started with the Tiramisu Martini and it was AMAZING. For appetizer we got the calamari which was a bigger portion than most other restaurants, a bang for your buck. We also got the Cesar salad and bucatini, both were flavorful and filling. The employees were very attentive and checked in on us often. I highly recommend this place for a night out with family/friends or just a comforting meal.

Billed as the oldest Italian restaurant, this place is quite good. We arrived on a Friday at 5:30pm without a reservation but were immediately sat. I wasn't very hungry and just had bread and minestrone soup; both very good. My girl had the bolognese and she loved it. I tried a bite and it was very good. Our waiter was very friendly but forgot couple items, which wasn't a big deal for us and we weren't charged for them. The decor is older but still nice. I was a little worried upon entry that we were under-dressed but soon realized most people were rather casual. I'd definitely return on future visits to SF.

Haven't been in a few years- just a good as I remembered! Service is phenomenal, our server was so attentive, and everyone on staff was dressed impeccably down to the bussers. Live piano music on Thursdays, paired with good wine, a full bar, and housemade pasta. Thank you Fior!!

Go for the pasta. The pasta is great. Not the sides, not the veggies, not the meats, not the desserts. The pasta. The service was sweet too, and it had a sort of cheesy old school ambiance. But go for the pasta. It's fresh and delicious. The gnocchi were amazing, even though I usually only like gnocchi with pesto but they serve it in a red creamy sauce. And the tagliatelle was perfect.

Fior d' Italia is part of the San Remo Hotel so the price tag reflects the location but the quality of the food and the ambiance justify it. The basket of warm bread to start the meal had crust with a satisfying crunch, giving way to a soft and pillowy interior. It was the kind of bread you could happily devour on its own, but it was also perfect to mix in with the main courses. There was live piano music which added a touch of sophistication to the atmosphere. It was subtle enough to allow for conversation but provided a delightful soundtrack to the evening. For my main course, I had the rabbit with polenta. It was very filling; perfect for those with a healthy appetite. The rabbit itself was incredibly tender, cooked to perfection, and the bones were easy to navigate around. The polenta was rich and creamy, infused with a savory mushroom sauce that offered a delightful depth of flavor. A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese around the edges added a touch of umami.

--The Oldest Italian Restaurant in America-- This place has the old-fashioned 1960's homey vibes you're looking for in an Italian restaurant, just absolutely delightful and great for a night out. When you walk in, you are greeted with decorum and interior design of an old-age Italian Trattoria, plucked right from Rome or Florence. The servers are very courteous and friendly as well. The menu is about as classic as it gets, which could be a good thing or bad thing (all your Italian and Italian-American favorites are here, but there is not much reinvention or creativity in the menu). Some of my personal favorite items I tried were the Pesto pasta, as well as the Risotto alla Milanese (though would've prefered if the Risotto came with the Milanese Veal too). The fried calamari was also a classic and very tasty. Overall I think it's a great place, a little on the pricey side but great for a night out in SF North Beach.

I've been looking far and wide for a good veal chop in San Francisco, and finally found one at Fior! It was cooked to perfection and had a good sauce. The good: - homey vibes and service. Lots of tradition etched onto their walls - cheap bottles of wine to go with your meal :) - affordable menu and a large portions - small and big tables for all occasions. I went with a party of 10 and they were able to accommodate us pretty quickly The meh: - our waiter spilled wine about 3x on our table while serving us but it's ok, there were a lot of us
